Where the Sidewalk Ends

May 7 • 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

WHERE THE SIDEWALK ENDS

Enter into childlike imagination in Rembrandt’s musical walk through life. Inspired by Shel Silverstein, a youthful work by Chicago composer Max Raimi begins the journey. Rembrandt travels through young adulthood with Dinuk Wijeratne’s 2013 piece Love Triangle and closes the season with Brahms’s Clarinet Quintet, written at the end of his career. Take a walk with Rembrandt… “a walk that is measured and slow” to “the place where the sidewalk ends.”

Max RAIMI: Four Songs for Clarinet, Viola, and Piano based on Shel Silverstein’s Where the Sidewalk Ends
Dinuk WIJERATNE: Love Triangle
BRAHMS: Clarinet Quintet in B Minor, op. 115

Guest Artists: Simon Michal, violin; Alan Kay, clarinet; Beilin Han, piano
